CrossFireX is a South Korean-made First-Person-Shooter (FPS) game, developed directly by Smilegate Entertainment and published in a joint partnership with Microsoft and Smilegate West. It has been distributed to various regions around the world.
Overview[]
CrossFireX features two International Mercenary Forces, together in an epic global conflict. Players assume the role of either a Black List (terrorist) or Global Risk (anti-terrorist) mercenary, joining an online team that must work together to complete objective-based scenarios.
CrossFireX was first announced in June 2019 in a Microsoft E3 briefing. However, there was a clear indication that Smilegate was working on a sequel or a new CrossFire game due to the number of job postings on their website which had keywords such as "Unreal Engine 4" and "CF2".
Powered by Unreal Engine 4, CrossfireX is being developed by Smilegate Entertainment, based in Seoul, South Korea, and have development partners including Remedy Entertainment to deliver a platform of rich experiences for Xbox players including a single player campaign, battle royale and competitive multiplayer.
Remedy Entertainment is currently working on the single player campaign which will run on a different game engine called "Northlight" while the multiplayer will run on Unreal Engine 4.
The game is planned to be released only on Xbox due to Microsoft having a exclusive deal with Smilegate. The game is set to be released worldwide on February 10th 2022.
Black List[]
Black List is a secretive mercenary organization that advocates the use of violence to halt the spread of corporate capitalism and globalization. They claim that current world powers have used aggressive foreign policy to maintain modern empires, and will use any means necessary to combat their expansion.
Global Risk[]
Global Risk is a giant private military corporation without national identity. It is composed of former members of special operations forces and its stated aim is to impose order in an increasingly chaotic world by any means necessary.
Regions[]
There are number of regions that CrossFireX will support and it has been mentioned that the game is open to all Xbox markets. However, the current servers are located in the following regions.

- Tactical Growth (Boost an attribute after doing damage, dying, or over time)
